## What Intuit Accountant Suite does

Intuit is rebuilding QuickBooks Online Accountant, and this is what replaces it. The suite gathers a firm's client QuickBooks Online files into one workspace with browser-style tabs, layers on role-based access controls, user groups and client segments by industry, region or office, and puts a chat assistant called Intuit Intelligence across the whole portfolio. ProConnect Tax appears inside the same workspace as a Tax Prep surface, with client data syncing in real time between the two, so a practice doing both books and returns works from one sign-in and one client list. A separate Books Close module supplies close workflow templates, centralized task assignment and progress tracking across every client at once, which is the part that puts this product in a close automation category rather than a practice management one.

Pricing is unusually explicit for something still carrying a beta label. Core costs nothing and covers client centralization, the shared inbox, role-based access, the Resolution Center and 200 Intuit Intelligence prompts a month. Accelerate adds customizable dashboards, client groups, portfolio insights and 1,000 prompts, is free today, and is listed at $149 a month from 20 January 2027. Books Close is also free during the beta, then $8 per onboarded client per month up to fifty clients and $6 per client above that, from 21 January 2027. A firm closing a hundred client books is therefore looking at roughly $750 a month once billing starts, on top of the Accelerate seat fee.

Nothing here has been through a busy season yet, which is the whole problem. The beta label is still on, the prices have an announced start date rather than a history, and Intuit's own pricing page describes reverting to QuickBooks Online Accountant as an available option, which is not the language of a completed migration. Firms that have already transferred clients into centralized accounts do not get that structure unwound. The close module is bound to QuickBooks Online by construction, so any Xero, Sage Intacct or desktop client sits outside it and gets managed somewhere else.

Against a dedicated close system such as Numeric, the suite trades depth for reach. There are no materiality thresholds on reconciliations, no flux analysis and no reviewer sign-off model of comparable rigor. What it has instead is the ledger, the tax software and the client list already in one place, which is a genuine advantage for a firm whose book is entirely QuickBooks. Against Aider, which runs close checks across both Xero and QuickBooks and prices per connected client, the Intuit product is cheaper at small scale and locked to a single ledger.

The inherited one-to-watch tier stands, and for once the tier and the recommendation point in different directions. A free beta from the vendor that already holds the client files is worth opening now. Committing a busy season to it before January 2027, when the prices take effect and the beta label comes off, is a separate decision that deserves its own evidence.

Pricing, security, integrations

## What it costs and what it connects to

Intuit Accountant Suite has a free tier. Pricing is per firm, plus per onboarded client for the close module.

We could not confirm a SOC 2 report for Intuit Accountant Suite from public sources. Ask the vendor directly before it touches client data — an absence here means unverified, not absent.

Intuit Accountant Suite connects to QuickBooks Online, which is the integration that decides whether a tool fits a firm's existing book of clients.

On the tax side it works with ProConnect Tax.

Our rating

## Why we rate Intuit Accountant Suite a One to Watch

Intuit Accountant Suite is rated One to Watch, alongside 3 other of the 11 month-end close automation tools in this directory.

Early or unproven at firm scale. Often genuinely interesting technology without the track record, support depth, or install base to bet a busy season on yet.
