## What Aiwyn does

Most firms meet Aiwyn through money rather than workflow. The company started by attacking the gap between a signed engagement and a collected fee, and its payments and engagement letter products are what the 800-plus firms on its customer list actually bought. Engagement letters are built from templates with dynamic client and fee variables, legal language locked against editing, magic-link signing that needs no client login, reminders every three days until execution, and 7216 consent documents managed alongside. Signed letters push into the firm's document management system and can trigger a payment method on file at the moment of signature, which is where the collections improvement comes from.

Aiwyn Practice, the practice management suite, is the newer and less proven half. It covers time and expense entry, automated invoicing and AR, project templates with task routing, a unified client and contact model, and role-based dashboards, and it is pitched as a replacement for the five to seven disconnected systems a large firm runs. The integration list is the tell about who this is for: CCH Axcess Workflow, Thomson Reuters Practice CS, IRIS Practice Management, Sage Intacct, Deltek Vantagepoint, Caseware, SafeSend Returns. These are the systems of Top 400 firms, and Aiwyn's own materials name Top 25, Top 100 and Top 400 customers.

That is the honest problem for a reader running a 2 to 50 person practice. Aiwyn is priced by quote with nothing published, implementation runs through a CPA-led team on a deliberate phased rollout, and the value case assumes a receivables balance large enough that shaving days off collection pays for the software. A ten-person firm has neither the AR to optimise nor the legacy system sprawl the product is designed to consolidate. Security documentation is also thinner than the customer base suggests: the engagements page states the product runs on SOC 2 Type 2 compliant infrastructure, but there is no public trust page covering MFA, SSO or data residency, so those go on the diligence list.

Compared with CCH Axcess Practice or Practice CS, Aiwyn is not really a rival so much as a layer that sits on top of them and does the billing and client-facing work those suites do badly. That is the sensible way for a mid-sized firm to buy it. Against Karbon, aimed at the same 2 to 50 firms this directory serves, Aiwyn is a different weight class in both price and target.

One-to-watch is where it belongs and the tier holds, though for a reason worth stating plainly. The company is not fragile: it raised $113 million led by KKR and Bessemer Venture Partners and bought QuickFee's US payments business. It is unproven at this reader's scale rather than unproven generally. The engagement letter product earns its strong-option rating in the proposals category on its own merits; the practice management suite is young, and a small firm should let the large ones finish testing it.
