## What Booker does

Everything about Booker runs in the write direction. A firm builds its accrual, depreciation or reclass workpaper in Google Sheets, and Booker pushes the resulting journal entries into QuickBooks Online from that sheet, so the entry that lands in the ledger ties back to the schedule and formulas that produced it. The higher tier extends the same mechanism to transactions: invoices, sales receipts, refund receipts, credit memos, bills, expenses and checks can be pulled into a sheet, edited in bulk, and pushed back, with new customer and vendor records created along the way. Anyone who has fixed four hundred miscoded expenses one at a time in the QuickBooks UI will recognise the job it is built for.

FinOptimal, an accounting firm in Houston that became a software vendor, sells Booker next to two siblings. Wrangler is the mirror image, streaming QuickBooks Online into Google Sheets read-only for reporting. Accruer automates prepaid expenses, deferred revenue, fixed assets and payroll accruals. The bundle of all three starts at $339 a month. Booker on its own is the piece a firm buys when the pain is data going in, not data coming out.

The unanswered question is the important one. Booker posts into live client ledgers at volume, and nothing on the vendor's site explains how those postings appear in the QuickBooks audit log, whether they are attributed to the connecting user or to a generic integration account, or what review step sits between a spreadsheet and a batch of committed entries. FinOptimal also publishes no SOC 2 report, security page or penetration test summary for any of its apps. For a tool whose entire purpose is bulk write access, that is a gap a firm should close with the vendor before connecting a client file. Pricing is also inconsistent across the vendor's own pages: the Booker page shows Lite at $99 and Unlimited at $149, while the app pricing page shows a single $99 plan, and it is priced per QuickBooks file either way, so a book of twenty clients means twenty subscriptions or a quote nobody publishes.

Amalgam is the direct comparison and answers the audit question head on, stating that because it stores nothing and connects with the user's own credentials, edits trace back to the username that made them. It also writes into QuickBooks Desktop, NetSuite, Xero and Dynamics rather than QuickBooks Online alone, and works in Excel as well as Sheets, for $99 a month for a single user with no per-client cap. G-Accon offers bulk write-back to Xero and QuickBooks with twenty-five client companies included at $150.

The tier moved down from strong-option. The product is narrow and useful, and the vendor is active, but three things count against betting a client base on it: per-file pricing that does not scale across a firm, contradictory published prices, and no documentation at all of audit attribution or security controls on a tool that exists to write into live ledgers. One-to-watch is fair, and a SOC 2 report plus an audit trail statement would move it back up.

## What it costs and what it connects to

Booker starts at $99 per month (Product page lists Lite at $99/month for journal entries and Unlimited at $149/month for all transaction types; the app pricing page lists a single $99 plan. 60-day money-back guarantee; bundled with Wrangler and Accruer from $339/month). Pricing is per QuickBooks file, per month.

We could not confirm a SOC 2 report for Booker from public sources. Ask the vendor directly before it touches client data — an absence here means unverified, not absent.

Booker connects to QuickBooks Online, which is the integration that decides whether a tool fits a firm's existing book of clients.

Beyond that: Google Sheets.

## Why we rate Booker a One to Watch

Booker is rated One to Watch, alongside 0 other of the 6 spreadsheet reporting & ledger sync tools in this directory.

Early or unproven at firm scale. Often genuinely interesting technology without the track record, support depth, or install base to bet a busy season on yet.
