## What Ready To Advise does

Thomson Reuters describes Ready to Advise as an AI tax planning product that takes uploaded returns and client information, identifies planning strategies tailored to that client, and ranks them by relevance and impact so nobody has to work through a checklist by hand. It then asks follow-up questions to narrow the set, walks staff through implementation using content from Checkpoint, and produces a client-facing document showing the savings and the projected outcome. The vendor's term for the model behind it is Fiduciary-Grade AI. The Checkpoint grounding is the genuinely interesting part, because the weakest link in most strategy-recommendation tools is where the strategy text came from and whether it is current.

The page names three buyers: practitioners moving beyond compliance, mid-sized firms building an advisory system, and larger firms that want to hand advisory work to junior staff while keeping quality controlled. That last one is the clearest fit, since a ranked and sourced strategy list is worth more to a firm with staff to delegate to than to a sole practitioner who already knows their book. Firms with no existing Thomson Reuters relationship have less reason to start here, because the product sits outside the CS Professional Suite listing and is sold on its own.

What the vendor publishes is thin to the point of being a problem for a buyer. There is no price and no indication of the pricing model. There is no stated launch date or availability window. Nothing on the page says whether returns arrive by OCR of a 1040 PDF or by direct import from UltraTax CS, which is the difference between a five-minute plan and re-keying a return for every engagement. Nothing says what is actually calculated: alternative minimum tax, net investment income tax, qualified business income phase-outs, the excess business loss limitation and state coverage all go unmentioned, so it is not possible to tell from the outside whether this produces a projection or a scored list of ideas. There is no security documentation linked from the page either. Every one of those answers is behind a demo request and a phone number.

Set against Corvee or TaxPlanIQ, both of which publish strategy counts, prices and plan structure, Ready to Advise asks for more trust and offers less to check. Set against Intuit Tax Advisor, the comparison is sharper still: Intuit's own disclaimers confirm that building Tax Advisor plans requires a Lacerte Fast Path or ProConnect Tax User Access license, meaning Lacerte and ProConnect firms already own a planning tool on a licence they pay for. A new paid product has to be visibly better than that, and the marketing page does not yet make the case. Thomson Reuters' own Planner CS at least states that it covers 45 states.

The tier stays at one-to-watch, which is where the evidence leaves it rather than a judgment on the product. The vendor is not a startup and Checkpoint is a real asset, so the ceiling here is high. But a firm cannot currently establish price, computation depth, import path or security posture without a sales call, and a directory reader deciding where to spend a busy-season budget needs at least one of those. Worth a demo, not yet worth a recommendation.
