Who it is for
Organisations that want self-serve querying over shared datasets with the exposed tables controlled centrally.
Overview
DataAssist lets an organisation publish selected data sources as tools that ChatGPT can call. Those sources can be uploaded CSV files or connected databases, with CSV, SFTP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and S3 backed stores supported.
Within an exposed source, a user can list the available tables, read their metadata, preview a sample of rows, and run SQL SELECT statements that the app validates before execution.
Two limits are stated in the record. Calls are scoped to the authenticated organisation and user, and only the tables an organisation has deliberately exposed can be reached. The query surface itself is limited to SELECT.

Administrators choose which tables are visible, and every query is validated before it runs.
Availability
DataAssist-IO is listed in the ChatGPT apps directory only. Absolute TechTeam has no connector under the same domain in the Claude directory; 392 of the 3,150 products here are on both marketplaces, and this is not one of them.
ChatGPT apps are built on MCP, and the same server can back a Claude connector, so the absence is a distribution decision rather than a technical one.

This is an independent catalogue entry compiled by Node8 from DataAssist-IO's public marketplace listing as it stood in August 2026. Listing facts come from the marketplaces; the comparisons against the rest of the directory and any live-endpoint measurements are Node8's. Node8 is not affiliated with Absolute TechTeam, and inclusion here is not an endorsement.
Node8 builds MCP servers end to end: deciding which tools are worth exposing, the authentication and permission model, the review submissions, and the onboarding that gets them used. One server serves ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
