The Namecheap app answers two questions: whether a domain is free, and what it costs. Names can be checked one at a time or in batches, and prices compared across different top level domains in the same request.
When a name is already taken, the app returns alternative suggestions, which suits open-ended naming work as well as confirming a choice already made. Availability status and pricing come from Namecheap's own platform at the time the question is asked.
The described scope is lookup rather than purchase. Domain discovery, bulk checks, and finding substitutes for names that are gone are what the record covers, and registration or account changes are not part of it.
