Create, deploy, and troubleshoot Railway projects from chat

Overview

What Railway does

Railway's entry combines an app with a set of skills so deployment work can happen in the chat window. New applications can be created and launched, and existing projects managed.

The other half is observation and diagnosis. Performance can be examined, deploy logs read back and summarised, and a failing or unexpected result investigated from the same place.

The example prompts give a sense of the range: deploying a public HTML page into a project and returning its URL, summarising the status and deploy logs of the most recent release, and creating a boolean feature flag with its default set to false. One skill, use-railway, is listed.

Who it is for

Developers hosting on Railway who want deploys and log checks without leaving the conversation.

What stands out

It reaches past deployment into feature flags and project configuration.

Where Railway is listed

Railway ships this on both marketplaces: Railway is listed in the Claude connectors directory and in the ChatGPT apps directory, under the same publisher domain.

Only 392 of the 3,150 products in this directory are listed in both marketplaces. One MCP server can serve both surfaces; what differs is each platform's listing and review process.

  • Create a boolean feature flag named rollout.enabled in my newest Railway project and set its default to false.

Claude listing

In the Claude connectors directory

Railway publishes 16 tools to Claude, deeper than 61.6% of the 1,253 Claude-listed connectors.

The median Claude-listed connector filed under Developer Tools publishes 13, so this one runs 3 tools above its bucket's median and ranks 42nd of 95 by tool count.

It falls in the 11-20 tools band, which holds 22.5% of the Claude directory.

Railway publishes a remote MCP endpoint. Claude connects to it over HTTP; there is nothing to install locally.

Every connector in the Claude directory is remote, all 1,253 of them, so transport is not a differentiator there.

In the publisher's words

How Railway describes it

The Railway connector lets Claude work with your Railway workspaces directly. Claude can take actions: create new projects, deploy services from your connected GitHub repositories, redeploy services, manage feature flags, and publish self-contained artifacts (a static page, a React component, a diagram) to a public URL in seconds via Railway Functions. It can also list your projects, services, and deployments, check the live status of an environment, and pull build, deploy, and HTTP logs to help you debug production issues without leaving the conversation. For complex, multi-step operations, the connector includes railway-agent, a conversational bridge to Railway's own infrastructure agent, which can inspect services, diagnose failures, and apply configuration changes on your behalf. Destructive actions are gated behind explicit confirmation, and everything is scoped to the projects and workspaces your Railway account can access.

This is an independent catalogue entry compiled by Node8 from Railway's public marketplace listings as they stood in August 2026. Listing facts come from the marketplaces; the comparisons against the rest of the directory and any live-endpoint measurements are Node8's. Node8 is not affiliated with Railway, and inclusion here is not an endorsement.
