Who it is for
Residents, renters, and journalists checking the regulatory record for a specific city's water supply.
Overview
TapWaterMap reports drinking water quality for United States cities using records from the EPA's Safe Drinking Water Information System. A lookup returns the water systems serving a given city along with the contaminants and violations logged against them, including dates and whether the EPA treated each as health-based.
Cities can be placed side by side, and any contaminant appearing on a record can be explained in plain terms. Coverage is roughly 19,000 cities across the fifty states and the District of Columbia.
The app does not judge whether water is safe to drink. It restates what regulators recorded and leaves the conclusion to the reader.

It declines to issue a safety verdict, reporting only what appears in EPA filings.

TapWaterMap is listed in the ChatGPT apps directory only. Squidcode LLC has no connector under the same domain in the Claude directory; 392 of the 3,150 products here are on both marketplaces, and this is not one of them.
ChatGPT apps are built on MCP, and the same server can back a Claude connector, so the absence is a distribution decision rather than a technical one.

This is an independent catalogue entry compiled by Node8 from TapWaterMap's public marketplace listing as it stood in August 2026. Listing facts come from the marketplaces; the comparisons against the rest of the directory and any live-endpoint measurements are Node8's. Node8 is not affiliated with Squidcode LLC, and inclusion here is not an endorsement.
Node8 builds MCP servers end to end: deciding which tools are worth exposing, the authentication and permission model, the review submissions, and the onboarding that gets them used. One server serves ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
