This Anthropic built connector reaches it without credentials. One call checks an NPI's format and Luhn check digit locally with no network request, which catches transcription errors before a lookup is wasted on them. The second retrieves full provider details for a valid number. The third searches the registry by name, location, specialty or organisation when the number is not known.
