Who it is for
Anyone passing along retail links who wants to see the real destination and a clean canonical URL first.
Resolve and inspect shortened retail product links
Overview
Product Link Expander unpacks a shortened retail link and reports where it actually goes. The output covers the final destination URL, the canonical product URL, an item identifier, the number of redirects, the full redirect chain, any warnings, and whatever page metadata is available.
The moment it is built for is just before a link gets shared or reused, when the destination is not obvious from the shortened form.
Three limits are stated plainly. It only reads, it needs no sign-in, and it keeps no history of requests. The set of supported retailers and link domains can be queried directly.
Anyone passing along retail links who wants to see the real destination and a clean canonical URL first.
It works without an account and keeps no record of what was checked.
Availability
Product Link Expander is listed in the ChatGPT apps directory only. Craig Carroll has no connector under the same domain in the Claude directory; 392 of the 3,150 products here are on both marketplaces, and this is not one of them.
ChatGPT apps are built on MCP, and the same server can back a Claude connector, so the absence is a distribution decision rather than a technical one.

This is an independent catalogue entry compiled by Node8 from Product Link Expander's public marketplace listing as it stood in August 2026. Listing facts come from the marketplaces; the comparisons against the rest of the directory and any live-endpoint measurements are Node8's. Node8 is not affiliated with Craig Carroll, and inclusion here is not an endorsement.
Node8 builds MCP servers end to end: deciding which tools are worth exposing, the authentication and permission model, the review submissions, and the onboarding that gets them used. One server serves ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
