Who it is for
Texas households shopping for a new electricity retailer or coming to the end of a contract.
Compare residential electricity plans by Texas ZIP code
Overview
Meter Energy Inc. built this app for the deregulated parts of the Texas retail electricity market, where a household picks its own provider. A ZIP code is the minimum input; adding an expected monthly usage figure produces closer bill estimates.
Matching plans come back with an estimated monthly cost, the effective rate, contract length, how much of the supply is renewable, the retailer behind the plan and its rating, plus links to the Electricity Facts Label and the signup page.
The app compares and does not transact. It cannot enroll a household in a plan or change existing electric service, so any switch is completed with the retailer afterwards.

Each plan arrives with its Electricity Facts Label link next to the headline rate, and the app stops short of enrollment.
Availability
Texas Electricity Plans is listed in the ChatGPT apps directory only. Meter Energy Inc. has no connector under the same domain in the Claude directory; 392 of the 3,150 products here are on both marketplaces, and this is not one of them.
ChatGPT apps are built on MCP, and the same server can back a Claude connector, so the absence is a distribution decision rather than a technical one.

This is an independent catalogue entry compiled by Node8 from Texas Electricity Plans's public marketplace listing as it stood in August 2026. Listing facts come from the marketplaces; the comparisons against the rest of the directory and any live-endpoint measurements are Node8's. Node8 is not affiliated with Meter Energy Inc., and inclusion here is not an endorsement.
Node8 builds MCP servers end to end: deciding which tools are worth exposing, the authentication and permission model, the review submissions, and the onboarding that gets them used. One server serves ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
