Who it is for
Dropbox users who want stored files reachable during a conversation and drafts saved back without a manual upload.
Reach Dropbox files and save chat output to them
Overview
The Dropbox app opens an account's stored files to a chat session. Documents and images can be found and opened, content produced in the conversation can be written back into a folder, and sharing links can be generated without opening the Dropbox client.
The listed skills go further than retrieval. They cover finding and inspecting a file, organizing a folder, clearing out stored content, collecting files through a request, and sharing.
Existing permissions still apply. Only files the account can already reach are available, so the connection does not widen access to anything that was previously off limits.

It writes as well as reads, taking in folder organization and link creation on top of file lookup.
Availability
Dropbox ships this on both marketplaces: Dropbox is listed in the Claude connectors directory and in the ChatGPT apps directory, under the same publisher domain.
Only 392 of the 3,150 products in this directory are listed in both marketplaces. One MCP server can serve both surfaces; what differs is each platform's listing and review process.
ChatGPT listing
Dropbox declares 6 named skills, which puts it in the 6.7% of ChatGPT-listed apps that do.
Claude listing
Dropbox publishes 19 tools to Claude, deeper than 67.2% of the 1,253 Claude-listed connectors.
The median Claude-listed connector filed under Productivity publishes 12, so this one runs 7 tools above its bucket's median and ranks 168th of 462 by tool count.
It falls in the 11-20 tools band, which holds 22.5% of the Claude directory.
Dropbox publishes a remote MCP endpoint. Claude connects to it over HTTP; there is nothing to install locally.
Every connector in the Claude directory is remote, all 1,253 of them, so transport is not a differentiator there.
https://mcp.dropbox.com/claude_app_mcp Dropbox carries partner verification in the Claude directory, which 474 of 1,253 listings do (37.8%). That is a review step past self-publishing, not an Anthropic-built server.
In the publisher's words
The Dropbox connector for Claude connects your Dropbox files directly to Claude, so you can search, organize, save generated content, and create sharing links without switching tools. It respects your existing Dropbox permissions, and Claude only works with files you already have access to.

This is an independent catalogue entry compiled by Node8 from Dropbox's public marketplace listings as they stood in August 2026. Listing facts come from the marketplaces; the comparisons against the rest of the directory and any live-endpoint measurements are Node8's. Node8 is not affiliated with Dropbox, and inclusion here is not an endorsement.
Node8 builds MCP servers end to end: deciding which tools are worth exposing, the authentication and permission model, the review submissions, and the onboarding that gets them used. One server serves ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
