## What Guides does

Guides is an editor for personal notebooks that live outside any single conversation. ChatGPT can read a notebook's structure, sketch an outline, then fill in and revise its pages over time. The examples named in the record are preference profiles, meal plans and learning journeys.

Access runs through OAuth against the account holder's own Guides account. What accumulates is the guide itself rather than the chat history, which changes how the work is done: an outline can be scaffolded early and detail added across later sessions, with each pass editing the same document.
