Who it is for
Opera users who want an assistant that can look at what is currently open in the browser.
Read tabs, page content, and screenshots from Opera
Overview
The Opera Browser Connector links the Opera browser to ChatGPT. Once active, the assistant can see which tabs are open, read the content of a page, capture a screenshot of it, and send the browser to a given address. Two further abilities, reading browsing history and closing tabs, depend on which permissions are granted.
Setup starts on the Opera side. In browser settings, under the AI Services entry, the connector has to be installed first. It then appears in the Opera toolbar, and that is where connections to ChatGPT are managed afterwards.

Setup and connection management stay inside Opera itself, and the more sensitive abilities sit behind separate permissions.
Availability
Opera Browser Connector is listed in the ChatGPT apps directory only. Opera Norway AS has no connector under the same domain in the Claude directory; 392 of the 3,150 products here are on both marketplaces, and this is not one of them.
ChatGPT apps are built on MCP, and the same server can back a Claude connector, so the absence is a distribution decision rather than a technical one.

This is an independent catalogue entry compiled by Node8 from Opera Browser Connector's public marketplace listing as it stood in August 2026. Listing facts come from the marketplaces; the comparisons against the rest of the directory and any live-endpoint measurements are Node8's. Node8 is not affiliated with Opera Norway AS, and inclusion here is not an endorsement.
Node8 builds MCP servers end to end: deciding which tools are worth exposing, the authentication and permission model, the review submissions, and the onboarding that gets them used. One server serves ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
