Who it is for
Developers building Shopify apps, themes, or custom storefronts.
Shopify development tooling for docs, GraphQL, and Liquid
Overview
This is Shopify's developer-facing set of tools rather than a storefront manager. It searches Shopify documentation, and generates and validates code across the platform's surfaces: GraphQL operations, Liquid templates, Hydrogen storefronts, Functions, UI extensions, and CLI workflows.
Eight skills come with it, split by area: admin, custom data, customer, dev, Functions, Hydrogen, Liquid, and App Store review. The last of those points the same tooling at the submission process.
One behaviour is disclosed in the listing. Skill scripts report usage telemetry to shopify.dev by default, and switching that off means setting OPT_OUT_INSTRUMENTATION to true. Capabilities are read and write.
Developers building Shopify apps, themes, or custom storefronts.
The telemetry default and the variable that disables it are stated in the entry itself.
Availability
Shopify ships this on both marketplaces: Shopify is listed in the Claude connectors directory and in the ChatGPT apps directory, under the same publisher domain.
Only 392 of the 3,150 products in this directory are listed in both marketplaces. One MCP server can serve both surfaces; what differs is each platform's listing and review process.
ChatGPT listing
Shopify declares 20 named skills, which puts it in the 6.7% of ChatGPT-listed apps that do.
Claude listing
Shopify publishes 25 tools to Claude, deeper than 76.7% of the 1,253 Claude-listed connectors.
The median Claude-listed connector filed under Productivity publishes 12, so this one runs 13 tools above its bucket's median and ranks 116th of 462 by tool count.
It falls in the 21-50 tools band, which holds 20% of the Claude directory.
Shopify publishes a remote MCP endpoint. Claude connects to it over HTTP; there is nothing to install locally.
Every connector in the Claude directory is remote, all 1,253 of them, so transport is not a differentiator there.
https://setup.shopify.com/mcp Shopify carries partner verification in the Claude directory, which 474 of 1,253 listings do (37.8%). That is a review step past self-publishing, not an Anthropic-built server.
In the publisher's words
Shopify for Claude makes store management as easy as having a conversation. Effortlessly connect your existing store and simply chat to add products, adjust inventory across locations, create discount codes, browse recent orders, view customer details, or pull analytics on your store's performance.

This is an independent catalogue entry compiled by Node8 from Shopify's public marketplace listings as they stood in August 2026. Listing facts come from the marketplaces; the comparisons against the rest of the directory and any live-endpoint measurements are Node8's. Node8 is not affiliated with Shopify, and inclusion here is not an endorsement.
Node8 builds MCP servers end to end: deciding which tools are worth exposing, the authentication and permission model, the review submissions, and the onboarding that gets them used. One server serves ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
