Who it is for
Researchers and writers who work through a lot of linked material and want it condensed in the same window.
Clean text from public articles and videos
Overview
smry pulls readable text out of public web articles and YouTube videos and hands it to ChatGPT in a clean form. From there the material can be summarised, questioned, set against another source, or quoted in short passages.
The app is deliberately limited: it does not get past hard paywalls, and it does not reach content behind private access controls. What it retrieves is what a public reader could reach.
The listing's sample requests point at three uses: a summary of one article's main points, a comparison of the arguments in two links, and extraction of the quotations best supported by the text.

The listing states plainly what it will not do, namely defeat hard paywalls or private access controls.
Availability
smry is listed in the ChatGPT apps directory only. smry has no connector under the same domain in the Claude directory; 392 of the 3,150 products here are on both marketplaces, and this is not one of them.
ChatGPT apps are built on MCP, and the same server can back a Claude connector, so the absence is a distribution decision rather than a technical one.

This is an independent catalogue entry compiled by Node8 from smry's public marketplace listing as it stood in August 2026. Listing facts come from the marketplaces; the comparisons against the rest of the directory and any live-endpoint measurements are Node8's. Node8 is not affiliated with smry, and inclusion here is not an endorsement.
Node8 builds MCP servers end to end: deciding which tools are worth exposing, the authentication and permission model, the review submissions, and the onboarding that gets them used. One server serves ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
