Build and manage WordPress.com sites from a conversation
Overview
Automattic's app wires ChatGPT, or Codex, into WordPress.com. Given a description of a business, an audience, and the pages wanted, the app maps out a structure, drafts the text, settles on a design, and puts the finished site online. Portfolios, restaurant menus, blogs, and online stores are the examples given.
An existing WordPress.com site can be connected instead. From there the app publishes and schedules posts, reports on traffic, moderates comments, manages plugins, and updates settings, with the record counting more than 70 abilities across a site.
Running locally in Codex adds a second target: WordPress Studio, for local builds, theme and plugin development, edits, and administration. A skill for editing WordPress block content ships alongside the app.

It reaches both a hosted WordPress.com site and, when run from Codex, a local WordPress Studio install.
Availability
Automattic (WordPress.com) ships this on both marketplaces: WordPress.com is listed in the Claude connectors directory and in the ChatGPT apps directory, under the same publisher domain.
Only 392 of the 3,150 products in this directory are listed in both marketplaces. One MCP server can serve both surfaces; what differs is each platform's listing and review process.
ChatGPT listing
WordPress.com declares 1 named skill, which puts it in the 6.7% of ChatGPT-listed apps that do.
Claude listing
WordPress.com publishes 16 tools to Claude, deeper than 61.6% of the 1,253 Claude-listed connectors.
The median Claude-listed connector filed under Productivity publishes 12, so this one runs 4 tools above its bucket's median and ranks 186th of 462 by tool count.
It falls in the 11-20 tools band, which holds 22.5% of the Claude directory.
WordPress.com publishes a remote MCP endpoint. Claude connects to it over HTTP; there is nothing to install locally.
Every connector in the Claude directory is remote, all 1,253 of them, so transport is not a differentiator there.
https://public-api.wordpress.com/wpcom/v2/mcp/v1 WordPress.com carries partner verification in the Claude directory, which 474 of 1,253 listings do (37.8%). That is a review step past self-publishing, not an Anthropic-built server.
In the publisher's words
Manage and create on your WordPress site through a conversation with Claude. Ask Claude to find a post, check your stats, draft something new, update a page, or pull up a comment thread. Your sites stay secure — Claude only gets access to what you approve, nothing more. Your site already knows your style — your theme, your colors, your fonts, every creative decision you've made. Claude can see all of it, so when it helps you create, the content actually fits. 60+ abilities. Every change is confirmed by you. Available on all paid WordPress.com plans and any Jetpack AI or Complete-connected site. For developers: Under the hood, this connector is powered by the WordPress.com MCP server. It uses OAuth 2.1 to ensure agents only access the resources you've explicitly approved, making it easy for you to build and extend AI-driven workflows on top of WordPress.
Quoted from the connector's own Claude directory listing as captured in August 2026. Node8 did not write it and does not vouch for it.

This is an independent catalogue entry compiled by Node8 from WordPress.com's public marketplace listings as they stood in August 2026. Listing facts come from the marketplaces; the comparisons against the rest of the directory and any live-endpoint measurements are Node8's. Node8 is not affiliated with Automattic (WordPress.com), and inclusion here is not an endorsement.
Node8 builds MCP servers end to end: deciding which tools are worth exposing, the authentication and permission model, the review submissions, and the onboarding that gets them used. One server serves ChatGPT, Claude, and Microsoft Copilot.
