Overview
What Crbonfree does
CrbonFree attaches a carbon figure to individual purchases. A description of what was bought, optionally with price, category, quantity or weight, produces an emissions estimate for that item together with the cost of offsetting it.
From there the offset can be paid for. Checkout runs through Stripe, and the app tracks the state of that payment so the conversation reflects whether an offset has actually been completed.
The worked example is a pair of Nike shoes at 150 dollars. The record covers estimation and offset payment on consumer purchases; it does not describe business reporting or annual footprint accounting.
