What Shipal does
Shipal answers one question: where a parcel currently is. Given a tracking number, it queries the 17Track service, which reaches carriers in many countries, and works out which carrier is involved rather than asking.
The result panel gives a status normalised into one of a few values (In Transit, Out for Delivery, Delivered, Exception), the most recent scan event, how many days the parcel has been moving, and the delivery window the carrier estimates. Locations are reduced to city level. A full event history sits underneath in date order.
The app is read-only, needs no sign-in, and collects no personal data. Failed lookups return typed error codes, which the panel turns into a specific alert rather than a generic failure.
