Overview

What Anthropic Economic Index does

The Anthropic Economic Index is a public dataset built from Claude conversations, describing where and for what Claude gets used. This is one of the nine connectors Anthropic publishes itself. Coverage runs across countries and subregions, occupations and job categories, and individual work tasks, with an index comparing a geography's share of Claude usage against its share of the working-age population. Queries can return one country's profile, a ranked list of every published country, a within-country breakdown by state or province, a side-by-side comparison of several regions, or the most common work tasks worldwide. The listing describes the surface as read-only, and the endpoint answered a tool listing without any credentials.
