Overview
What ChEMBL does
ChEMBL is a manually curated database of drug-like compounds with measured activity against biological targets. This Anthropic built connector reaches it without credentials. Compounds can be found by name, ChEMBL identifier or molecular structure; targets by protein, enzyme, receptor or organism; and the quantitative bridge between them, IC50, Ki, EC50 and related measurements, is retrievable for a compound and target pair. Two further calls cover mechanism of action for approved drugs and clinical candidates, and drug search by therapeutic indication. A sixth returns ADMET related molecular properties, with the caveat in its own description that ChEMBL supplies calculated descriptors rather than experimental values.
