The read
What Numeric does
The logos on Numeric's homepage are Brex, Plaid, Wealthfront and Asana, not accounting firms. That is the first thing a ten-person practice should register. The product was built for the controller inside a venture-backed company and it shows in the mechanics: a close checklist whose items carry owners, dependencies, entity and department tags and a full audit log, account reconciliations with materiality thresholds that auto-submit when a difference falls below them, flux analysis with AI-drafted explanations, and transaction monitoring that surfaces anomalies before an auditor finds them. A newer Cash Management product matches bank activity to the ledger and automates journal entries, with a claim of clearing more than 90 percent of bank reconciliations without a human.
Where it becomes relevant to a firm is the Growth tier, described on the pricing page as being for teams working on QuickBooks and Xero, and the partner program, whose listed partners include Baker Tilly, CrossCountry Consulting, Sensiba and Deloitte alongside implementation consultancies. A CAS or outsourced controller practice whose clients resemble Numeric's direct customers, meaning funded companies on NetSuite or QuickBooks Online with deferred revenue schedules and an audit in the calendar, can run those closes in the same system the client's eventual in-house team will use.
The pricing structure needs reading carefully. Essentials is $30 per user per month and buys the checklist, preparer and reviewer segregation, a Slack integration and the AI assistant, but not the ERP connection. Live ERP and file storage integration, auto-reconciliation, AI bank statement parsing, flux analysis and CPA-led onboarding all sit in Growth, which is quoted rather than listed. SAML authentication, transaction monitoring, custom reporting and live bank feeds are Enterprise only. A firm that evaluates on the $30 headline will discover the automation it came for is a tier or two above it.
The mismatch with a small US tax and bookkeeping firm is real and worth being direct about. There is no client portal, no engagement letter, no time and billing, no tax software integration and nothing resembling a practice management workspace. Numeric assumes one company's books at a time, and a firm running fifty small monthly closes will feel the per-user model working against it in a way a per-client tool like Aider does not. The company also publishes no security page and no SOC 2 statement on its marketing site, which is a surprising gap given the customer base. SAML support is documented on the pricing page; certification status is not documented anywhere we could fetch.
Numeric moves up from one to watch to a strong option. The evidence against the unproven reading is substantial: a $51M Series B led by IVP, a named partner roster of large accounting and consulting firms, published entry pricing, a shipped second product line in cash management, and an active blog and podcast. It is not a top pick in this directory because the buyer it was designed for is a company controller rather than a firm owner, and because the two tiers that would actually serve a firm are the ones with no published price.

What it costs and what it connects to
Numeric starts at $30 per user/month (Essentials tier only; Growth and Enterprise are quoted, and live ERP integration, auto-reconciliation and flux analysis start at Growth). Pricing is per user, per month on the entry tier; quoted per company above it.
We could not confirm a SOC 2 report for Numeric from public sources, SAML single sign-on is supported. Ask the vendor directly before it touches client data — an absence here means unverified, not absent.
Numeric connects to NetSuite, QuickBooks Online and Xero. Supporting more than one ledger matters for firms whose clients are split across them.
Beyond that: Slack, Live bank feeds and MCP server for AI assistants.
Our rating
Why we rate Numeric a Strong Option
Numeric is rated Strong Option, alongside 5 other of the 11 month-end close automation tools in this directory.
A credible choice that wins on a specific fit rather than across the board — a price point, a niche, a workflow, or an integration the top picks do not cover as well.
