The read
What Zoho Practice does
Zoho built this for the accountants and bookkeepers already carrying its own ledger, and that decision runs through every part of the product. Client onboarding does not start with a CSV import, it starts by pulling organisations straight out of Zoho Books, Payroll, Expense and Inventory. From there a firm gets task templates and recurring tasks, workflow rules that fire on an event or a date, timesheets that bill by staff hour or by task, a document repository, and a client portal with requests, questionnaires, encrypted chat and WhatsApp messaging. The financial insight layer is the part with real substance: aged receivables and payables, cash flow, uncategorised bank transactions and general ledger anomaly detection surfaced across the client base, plus workpapers and a ledger view for review work.
Pricing is per organisation rather than per seat, which is unusual and favourable at small scale. Standard is $49 a month and Premium $149 a month on annual billing, each covering up to five users, with additional users and additional ledgers charged as add-ons. Authorised and Advanced Zoho partners get Standard at no cost and Premium partners get the full Premium plan, so for a firm already in the Zoho partner program the software is effectively free.
The constraint is severe and there is no way around it. Zoho Practice integrates with Zoho. The integration list is Books, Payroll, Expense, Inventory, Sign and Cliq, and nothing else. There is no QuickBooks Online connection, no Xero connection, and no integration with Drake, UltraTax, Lacerte, ProConnect or CCH Axcess. For a US firm, where the overwhelming majority of client files sit in QuickBooks Online and the tax season runs through a desktop or cloud tax package, that removes the two connections a practice management system exists to make. The compliance alerting that is built in is oriented toward filing regimes such as Making Tax Digital rather than the US federal calendar, and the US pricing page renders the plans without dollar figures, which is a small sign of how much attention the US edition gets. Zoho publishes multi-factor authentication and SAML single sign-on across its services, but a SOC 2 report specific to Practice could not be confirmed from the pages available.
Financial Cents is the obvious alternative for a US firm at a similar budget, with QuickBooks Online sync and a long list of tax software integrations. Jetpack Workflow is simpler and cheaper still. Karbon costs more and does considerably more. Uku is the closest structural match, another non-US vendor with strong billing and no US tax integrations. Against all of them, Zoho Practice wins only when the firm's clients are on Zoho Books.
The one-to-watch tier is right and stays. The vendor is substantial and the product is credible for the market it was built for. In this directory's terms it is unproven for a US firm, because the integration surface does not reach the software US firms actually run. It becomes worth a serious look the day Zoho ships a QuickBooks Online connector, and until then it is a fit for a narrow slice of Zoho-standardised practices.

We could not confirm a SOC 2 report for Zoho Practice from public sources, multi-factor authentication is available, SAML single sign-on is supported. Ask the vendor directly before it touches client data — an absence here means unverified, not absent.
Zoho Practice connects to Zoho Books, which is the integration that decides whether a tool fits a firm's existing book of clients.
Beyond that: Zoho Payroll, Zoho Expense, Zoho Inventory, Zoho Sign, Zoho Cliq, Zoho Mail and WhatsApp.
Our rating
Why we rate Zoho Practice a One to Watch
Zoho Practice is rated One to Watch, alongside 11 other of the 49 practice management tools in this directory.
Early or unproven at firm scale. Often genuinely interesting technology without the track record, support depth, or install base to bet a busy season on yet.
