The read
What Corvee does
Corvee is now an Instead company, and corvee.com no longer resolves to a website of its own. Every URL on the old domain redirects to a single explainer page on instead.com. The software itself is unchanged and still sold. Existing accounts keep their logins at app.corvee.com, pricing is unchanged, and the vendor states that no features are being discontinued. What has changed is where the development attention sits, and the acquirer says so plainly by describing Instead as the next-generation platform built on Corvee's foundation.
The product remains the deepest strategy-first planner a small firm is likely to see. It carries more than 1,500 strategies across entity types, covers 52 or more states and localities, and models a client's 1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1065 and 1041 positions together rather than one return at a time. That multi-entity view is the real differentiator. Smart questionnaires push the data-gathering out to the client, and the output is a branded plan the firm can charge for, which is the part that defends a planning fee. Corvee's own numbers claim more than $5 billion in identified client savings and 237 percent more savings than a manual estimate, both vendor figures with no methodology attached.
Two trade-offs matter. The first is price and posture: nothing is published, the sale runs through a conversation, and the historical reputation of this product is that the annual figure is large relative to what a five-person firm spends on anything else. Budget for a quote in the thousands and plan the engagements that will pay for it before signing. The second is that a strategy library scores opportunities, it does not replace a projection. A firm that needs to carry AMT, net investment income tax, QBI phase-outs and the excess business loss limitation forward year by year is doing a different job than picking strategies off a ranked list, and should test that specific calculation before assuming it is covered.
Against Intuit Tax Advisor the comparison is stark. Intuit costs nothing extra on a Lacerte or ProConnect license, imports the entire return from the source, and produces a competent client report, but it only handles the resident state and stops well short of entity restructuring. Corvee is the tool a firm buys when the planning conversation is about which entity holds what, across several returns and several states. Against Holistiplan it is a different price bracket and a different deliverable, a plan rather than a review.
The tier moved down from top-pick, and the reason is ownership rather than product quality. A tool whose entire marketing site has been folded into a single page under an acquirer's domain, and whose acquirer is openly positioning a successor product, is not where a firm should start a multi-year commitment in 2026. Nothing here reads as abandoned, the platform is supported and the customer base is being retained, which is why this is strong-option rather than dated. But a firm evaluating Corvee today should ask directly what the migration path to Instead looks like and what happens to Corvee pricing when the current term ends.

What it costs and what it connects to
Instead does not publish a price for Corvee; it is quoted per firm, usually on firm size or entity count.
We could not confirm a SOC 2 report for Corvee from public sources. Ask the vendor directly before it touches client data — an absence here means unverified, not absent.
Corvee does not integrate directly with a general ledger.
Our rating
Why we rate Corvee a Strong Option
Corvee is rated Strong Option, alongside 2 other of the 13 tax planning & advisory tools in this directory.
A credible choice that wins on a specific fit rather than across the board — a price point, a niche, a workflow, or an integration the top picks do not cover as well.
